Celebrating Lohri & Makar Sankranti
Makar Sankranti is a harvest festival and a festival of joy and happiness. The Nursery and Prep Class students came attired in colourful ethnic dresses. To enhance the spirit of the festivital they made kites with colorful paper.
The students were told the significance of Lohri by showing them animated videos of the festival. Folk songs were played to mark the mood and the students danced to the energetic rhythm. The students made posters of the Lohri bonfire and offered popcorn and groundnuts to the Lohri bonfire.



The Festival of Lohri was celebrated by the students of Class 1 with great zeal and enthusiasm. The celebration commenced with a short description given by the teachers explaining the significance of the festival. The students were also informed that Lohri is also the harvest festival. All the students were dressed in their best Punjabi attire and danced to Lohri songs. In the end in an art activity the students drew A Lohri scene.
Makar Sakranti is the festival that represents different cultures but unites India as one. The students of Class 1 celebrated the day dressed in colourful traditional attire. The children were shown a presentation and Videos to help them understand the significance of the festival. The students also made drawings of Makar Sankranti. Overall the celebration was full of joy and excitement.


To celebrate the festival of Lohri and the event memorable, the students of Class 2 made beautiful drawings and danced gracefully on the Lohri songs. The students were overwhelmed and enjoyed the day. Overall it was a fun filled day for the little ones.
To celebrate Makar Sankranti the students drew, coloured and decorated kites. They also saw a short movie based on Makar Sankranti. The children were encouraged to be open-minded, tolerant and respectful towards each other, embrace differences and cherish similarities in their beliefs and cultures.


The students of Class 3 celebrated the popular festival of Lohri and Makar Sankranti with joy and gaeity. The teachers informed the students how and why the festival is celebrated. The students made posters depicting Lohri celebrations and decorated kites for Makar Sankranti


On the occasion of Lohri and Makar Sankranti, the students of Class 4 came to School attired in traditional dresses and totally absorbed in the festive spirit. They made a serving tray using waste material and also decorated it. The students performed dances and sang melodious songs related to Lohri. The positive vibes of Lohri filled the air with happiness.
The children made beautifully decorated and coloured wall hangings in the shape of kites to celebrate Makar Sankranti and showcased their creations with pride.


The students of Class 5 celebrated Lohri with great enthusiasm. They came to School dressed in their finest and colourful ethnic attire. The children danced to the foot- tapping Punjabi music and sang Lohri songs. The teacher explained to the children about the festival enriching their knowledge. In a craft activity, the students made beautiful Lohri puppets, cutouts and drawings.
Makar Sankranti was celebrated virtually in the online classes. The students celebrated the festival and made delicious ladoos by using Khoya, powdered sugar, dry fruits and white sesame seeds. They enjoyed this activity and relished their dessert. Students were totally involved in the festive spirit.


Republic Day Celebrations
The Republic Day was celebrated with patriotic fervour and zest at CWS. A plethora of activities were organised to infuse the spirit of unity, brotherhood and patriotism among the students. The students of the Nursery and Pre-primary wing presented soulful songs and dances to celebrate the monumental day. The students were also sensitised about the National Bravery Awards which are given to kids from all over India for their meritorious acts of bravery. The kids came in the attire of Freedom Fighters and spoke about them. The event concluded with the National Anthem.


The Republic Day was celebrated by the Class 2 students with great éclat. Students made beautiful Republic day badges. Everyone was feeling very patriotic and happy.

This year students of Class 3 celebrated the 74th Republic Day with full enthusiasm. The children saluted our National Flag and took a pledge. They were told about our freedom fighters and how they have fought for our country. Students displayed a keen interest in learning about the sacrifice of freedom fighters. They made a collage of freedom fighters and spoke on their favourite freedom fighters.

The 74th Republic Day was celebrated in all its solemnity and grandeur by the students of Class 4. The programme commenced with the unfurling of the Tricolour followed by a March Past. The young patriots took pride in glorying and celebrating the spirit of unity. The students made Paper flowers using Tricoloured paper. The soul-stirring songs filled each one present in the school premises with patriotic fervour. The children were motivated to follow the constitution in letter and spirit and be the harbinger of a social change to build a new, better and stronger India. The echo of slogan ‘Jai Hind’ filled everyone’s heart with patriotism. The momentous ceremony ended with the National Anthem.

The Republic Day was celebrated in all its solemnity and grandeur by the students of Class 5 on 25th January. The students saluted the National Flag and pledged themselves to upholding the honour and integrity, diversity and uniqueness that is “India”. They were explained why we celebrate our Republic Day. They made beautiful sky scenes with aircrafts along with the pictures of freedom fighters and also the National Flag. The children sang patriotic songs with great zeal and enthusiasm.
