Celebrating Eid-Ul-Fitr & Earth Day
On 21st of April, the students of the Nursery and Prep Classes celebrated Earth Day and Eid-Ul-Fitr. Earth day was celebrated with immense excitement and enthusiasm. The students came dressed in green and blue attire which added up to the significance of the celebration. The students brought pot and saplings with them and learned a few things about planting saplings. The planting process was done with great enthusiasm. The reason behind planting saplings was to spread awareness and make children understand the importance of saving the Earth’s resources. Eid-Ul-Fitr was celebrated with religious warmth and excitement. The children came dressed in green attire which added up to the significance of the festival. The children were told about the significance of the festival and were shown a short video to make them understand better about the festival.


The students of Class 1 celebrated Earth Day with a medley of educational and fun activities. Children watered the plants to know the importance of plants on the earth, moreover they also pasted things we get from plants to enhance their knowledge. Along with Earth Day, the children also celebrated Eid-Ul-Fitr with pomp and show. They made beautiful cards and wished each other “Eid Mubarak“. The celebrations gave a message to students to love all and hate none. They also enjoyed sweets which they had brought from home.

The richness and depth of celebrations express a culture accurately.
The students of Class 2 celebrated the festival of Eid with great enthusiasm. To mark the occasion students made beautiful Eid frames. The spirit of Eid was well imbibed by the students and also helped them to instill the universal values of brotherhood and compassion. On the other hand Earth Day was celebrated through educational and action-oriented activities that were fun and full of zeal. Echoing the same students were indulged in a craft activity where they prepared beautiful hand puppets of our “Mother Earth” with the aim of promoting environmental awareness amongst all.

The students of Class 3 enthusiastically participated in various activities to commemorate our benevolent ‘Mother Earth Day’. On the occasion of the Earth Day, creative activities were organized with a view to motivate children to do their bit towards making their planet even more beautiful. The importance of the Earth Day was discussed and the students took a pledge to preserve and conserve their self-sustaining planet. Eid-Ul-Fitr was also celebrated to enlighten the students about the spirit of the festival, symbolizing the unity in our nation. In our multicultural society we need to instill and enforce the universal values of brotherhood, tolerance, peace, compassion, and solidarity in our children. To celebrate Eid, Moon and stars cut outs were made and few lines were spoken by the students.

Eid, a celebration of joy, sharing and gratitude, was celebrated by the students of Class 4 with full zeal and zest. The celebrations began with an informative presentation for the students to learn the importance and the subsequent celebration of Eid. Students made a picture of a Mosque in a craft activity. The celebration ended up with students wishing “Eid Mubarak” to each other. Later, Earth Day was celebrated to remind the students of their duties towards ‘Mother Nature.’ As a part of environmental education, “Go- Green” initiative was taken to engage the students in making a difference. The Day was celebrated through educational and action-oriented activities that were fun. The students made stick puppets of the Earth and watered the plants. Students learnt the importance of preserving the planet earth. Students took the oath on Earth Day to protect the earth from pollution and abuse.

The students of Class 5 celebrated Eid-Ul-Fitr with pomp and show, zeal and gusto. The celebration of Eid promotes national integration and the feeling of brotherhood. Students made beautiful cards and spoke slogans on Eid. It gave a message to students to love all and hate none. Later Students celebrated Earth day along with the teachers with much enthusiasm. The aim was to sensitize the students towards their role in addressing global environmental challenges at grass root level. To mark this day and to emphasize upon the need to save trees, all the children were involved in speaking slogans like “SAVE EARTH” and “GO GREEN”.

Celebrating Ambedkar Jayanti & Baisakhi
Ambedkar Jayanti and Baisakhi were celebrated with great excitement and religious fondness. The students were all dressed in traditional Indian attire, which added up to the enthusiasm. The children were informed about the contributions of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. The students also saw a short film on the life of Dr. Ambedkar and learnt about his achievements, and the way he changed peoples lives.
The children also came to know about the harvest festival Baisakhi. Bhangra songs were played which delighted the students and they danced with delight. The School In-charge wished all the students a very happy Baisakhi and emphasized the significance of the festival.


On the auspicious occasion ‘Baisakhi’ and ‘Ambedkar Jayanti’ a small celebration took place in Class 1. The celebration commenced with an introduction as to why Baisakhi and Ambedkar Jayanti are celebrated and their significance. Children came to School dressed in traditional attire. In a Craft activity the students decorated a Dhol to mark the occasion of Baisakhi. They were encouraged to speak about Dr. Ambedkar also. Overall, it was an enlightening experience for the tiny tots.

Dr. Ambedkar was a man of many virtues. He was a jurist, economist, politician, and a social reformist. Popularly known as Babasaheb, he was a man of social substance who became India’s first ever independent law minister and principal architect of the Indian Constitution. To pay him tribute, the students of Class 2 made some beautiful posters. After Ambedkar Jayanti celebrations, the harvest festival of Baisakhi was celebrated with equal fervour. Children made kanghas (the comb traditionally worn by Sikhs as a symbol of their religious and cultural loyalty) using ice-sticks and match-sticks. It was a delight to see the tiny tots engrossed in the activity.

Baisakhi is the festival which is celebrated as the joy of harvesting crops. It is a popular festival of the Sikh community. The students of Class 3 were told about why this festival is made and what’s its importance. The children made corn crops with colourful paper. The children also celebrated Ambedkar Jayanti for remembering the contributions of the gem of modern history Dr B. R. Ambedkar. The students were informed that he was a lawyer, jurist, anthropologist, orator, socialist, and popular leader. For drafting the final frame of the Indian Constitution, he is also remembered as the “Father of the Constitution of India”. The children wrote his quotes and also recited them.

Baisakhi, the harvest festival, was celebrated with zeal and enthusiasm by the students of Class 4. An activity was conducted in which some students made a cut-out of a Sikh, while others made a Dhol using paper cups. Students were totally involved in the festivity and enjoyed the celebration with fervour. Later, The importance of celebrating the birth anniversary of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar and his contributions were shared amongst the children. The children were enlightened about the Constitution of India in an age-appropriate manner that was integrated with the civic awareness program to follow the rules of our country. Students actively celebrated Ambedkar Jayanti by preparing a work on A4 size sheet which had a picture of Dr. Ambedkar, with that they also spoke about him.

Ambedkar Jayanti was celebrated by the children of Class 5 with great zeal and enthusiasm. The celebration started with a brief description of Dr Baba Saheb Bhim Rao Ambedkar. The children were told that he is also known as the father of the Constitution of India and he was the first law minister of Independent India. They were asked to speak a few lines or recite slogans on Dr. Ambedkar. Later the harvest festival of Baisakhi was enjoyed by the students. The children were explained about the importance of the festival by showcasing the Punjabi culture. They made beautiful cards and wrote slogans on them. They were totally in the festive spirit. They were apprised about the significance of the festival.
