Earth Day Celebrations
World Earth Day was celebrated with great fervour and enthusiasm on 24th April 2024. The tiny tots of the Nursery and Prep Classes learnt about the importance of recycling and planting more trees. The special day was celebrated to demonstrate the support for environmental protection, the teachers explained to the students the importance of planting trees to save Mother Earth from global warming. The students planted saplings in the School premises with the help of their teachers and were told that they would be responsible for taking care of the sapling, instilling in them the approach of respecting and loving nature and realizing their responsibility. They also made the beautiful earth smiley faces.


Earth Day inspires us to act towards the protection of the environment and focus on the need of its conservation. The students of Class 1 celebrated the Earth Day by creating beautiful posters of Earth and decorating them. Later they participated in cleanup activities; such as throwing litter in the trash can, planting saplings, and watering the plants. The teachers made the children understand the objective of celebrating this special day. The children participated in the activities enthusiastically.

Earth Day was celebrated in Class 2 with great enthusiasm. The students learned about the importance of taking care of our planet. They participated in various activities such as planting saplings, making posters, and recycling crafts. Teachers emphasized the significance of reducing waste and conserving natural resources. The children showed creativity and eagerness to protect the Earth. Overall, it was a memorable and educational Earth Day celebration.

With the help of constructive activities, the students of Class 3 participated enthusiastically to celebrate Earth Day. The activities were organized with a view to motivate children to do their bit towards making their planet even more beautiful. The importance of the Earth Day was discussed and the students took a pledge to preserve and conserve their self-sustaining planet.

Earth Day was celebrated to remind the Class 4 students of their duties towards ‘Mother Nature.’ As a part of environmental education, a “Go- Green” initiative was taken to engage the students in making a difference. Earth Day was celebrated through educational and action-oriented activities that were fun. Students celebrated the power of green by making stick puppets of the earth and by watering the plants. Students learnt the importance of preserving the planet earth. Students also took an oath to protect the earth from pollution and abuse.

The Earth Day celebrations saw some students of Class 5 coming to School dressed in green and blue attire, enhancing the significance of the event. The children created lovely posters and recited slogans and spoke about the importance of the day and promoting earth conservation. The activities were carried out with great enthusiasm, featuring educational and action-oriented events filled with fun and zeal.

Celebrating Ambedkar Jayanti
In remembrance of Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar and to commemorate his birth anniversary , our little munchkins of the Nursery and Prep Classes coloured a portrait of Dr B R Ambedkar and learnt a few lines about the father of the constitution.


The students of Class 1 were made to understand the significance of celebrating the birthday of our great leader Dr. B. R. Ambedkar, through a video. They were made aware of his contribution to making the Constitution of India more simple. This was followed by drawing and colouring his portrait, highlighting his aura of being a powerful leader. The children were encouraged to speak about Dr. Ambedkar also. Overall, it was an enlightening experience for the tiny tots.

On Ambedkar Jayanti, Class 2 students created posters celebrating Dr. Ambedkar’s legacy. With vibrant colors and creativity, they depicted his values of equality and social justice. Students incorporated slogans like “Education for All” and “Unity in Diversity” to convey his messages. Teachers provided guidance, encouraging students to express their understanding of Dr. Ambedkar’s teachings visually. The activity fostered teamwork and artistic skills among the students. It was a meaningful tribute to Babasaheb Ambedkar’s contributions.

Ambedkar Jayanti was celebrated by Class 3 for remembering the contributions of one of the gems of Indian history, Dr. B. R. Ambedkar. The students were informed that he was a lawyer, jurist, anthropologist, orator, socialist, and a leader of India. For drafting the final frame of the Indian Constitution, he is also remembered as the “Father of the Constitution of India”. The students made and coloured the National Flag and spoke about Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar.

The importance of celebrating the birth anniversary of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar and his contributions were shared amongst the children of Classes 4 and 5. The children were enlightened about the Constitution of India in an age appropriate manner that was integrated with the civic awareness programme to follow the rules of our country. Students took active participation in celebrating Ambedkar Jayanti by preparing a poster on Ambedkar Ji.


Eid-Ul-Fitr And Baisakhi Celebrations
On the occasion of Baisakhi celebrations on 9th April, the tiny tots of Nursery and Prep came to school in traditional Punjabi attire. They celebrated the festival by performing traditional Gidda and Bhangra, popular folk dances of India. Toddlers pasted split grains on the corn. At the end, students were told that the formation of the Khalsa Panth in the year of 1699 is commemorated by celebrating Baisakhi. Every child celebrated Baisakhi with great zeal and zest.
Eid, the festival that upholds the spirit of solidarity, love and secularism, was celebrated with great enthusiasm by the students of Pre-Primary. They dressed up beautifully to celebrate the occasion. The dance performances to the tunes of Qawwali filled the environment with happiness and love. Students hugged each other and shared sweets among each other. They enjoyed the
festival with high spirit and great enthusiasm. They made pop-up cards with stars and a half moon and finally gave them to their friends and wished them a Happy Eid.


The Class 1 students celebrated Eid with pomp and show. The celebrations of Eid promote national integration and the feeling of brotherhood. The students drew and coloured a beautiful mosque and cheers of “Eid Mubarak“ resonated in the classroom. The celebrations gave a message to student to love all and hate none. They also enjoyed sweets.
Baisakhi was celebrated with immense religious fervor and zeal. The students of Class 1 came dressed in traditional Indian attire. The boys wore kurta pajamas and girls wore beautiful salwar suits with dupattas added to the significance of the harvesting festival. Students coloured an outline of a Dhol and also decorated it.Later the children danced to bhangra songs giving them a totally different experience. Students wished a very happy Baisakhi.


In celebration of Eid the Class 2 students engaged in vibrant craft activities, creating beautiful handmade decorations. Alongside the craft work, students learned about the significance of Eid, emphasizing themes of unity, gratitude, and generosity. Through these activities, they gained a deeper understanding of the cultural and religious importance of Eid.
The time of Baisakhi usually signifies the end of the harvest season, and is an occasion of tremendous joy and festivity for farmers. The students were beautifully dressed for the occasion. They looked stunning in their vibrant Punjabi attire and were addressed as ‘Gabrus’ and ‘Mutiyars’ by their teachers. The little munchkins enthusiastically participated in making a magnificent Baisakhi craft which added to the festive fervor. The celebration brought our little ones closer to the dazzling beauty of Indian culture.


Eid was celebrated to enlighten the students of Class 3 about the spirit of the festival, symbolizing the unity in our community. In our multicultural society we need to instill and enforce the universal values of brotherhood, tolerance, peace, compassion, and solidarity in our children. To celebrate Eid, students were asked to draw a beautiful scenery related to Eid in sketch files by using different colours and some students also shared their views about the festival.
Baisakhi is a popular festival which is celebrated as the joy of harvesting crops by the Sikh community. The students were told about why this festival is celebrated and its importance. They were also asked to make crops using broom sticks.


Eid, a festival of joy, sharing and gratitude, was celebrated by the students of Class 4 with full zeal and zest .The celebrations began with an informative presentation for the students to learn the importance and the subsequent celebration of Eid. The students drew and coloured a Mosque. The students gathered in the atrium to celebrate the spirit of joy and peace. The celebrations ended up with students wishing “Eid Mubarak” to all.
Baisakhi celebrations began by thanking the almighty for his divine grace and which was carried forward by creating Baisakhi craft. The students made a Dhol using coloured sheets and decorative material. The students were reminded of the sacrifices made by our freedom fighters in Jallianwala Bagh, Amritsar. The children showed eagerness to know more about our culture.

Students drew a Mosque by using different colours and waste material to celebrate different cultures. The celebrations promoted a message to love all and hate none.
Baisakhi, the harvest festival, was celebrated with zeal and enthusiasm. the children were explained about the importance of the festival by showcasing Punjabi culture. They made a beautiful picture by using decorative materials like stars, bindis etc. and also spoke about it. Students were totally involved in the festive spirit. They were apprised about the significance of the festival. The idea of celebrating various festivals in School is to teach students to live in harmony and peace.


Orientation Day Session 2024 – 2025
The Orientation Programme for CWS parents and students for the upcoming Session was organized on Saturday 23rd March 2024. The event was organized to apprise the parents of the fundamental policies and salient features of the New Education Policy 2020 and how CWS implements them in best interest of the students.
A engrossing and interactive Parent Counselling session was conducted by Dr. Barkha Shourey, Occupational Therapist and Director, Rahat Occupational & Speech Therapy Centre. She informed the parents of what changes to expect as their children start going to School and also how to handle them. She laid stress on spending quality time with the kids and curtailing screen time. Individual queries of parents were also addressed by her. The Session was appreciated by all.
