Celebrating Friendship Day

The little toddlers of the Nursery and Prep Classes celebrated Friendship Day on 7th August 2022. The students were made aware of the importance of friends in life. The students were also told stories with the moral “A Friend in Need is a Friend Indeed” and “Sharing is Caring”. The day concluded with the students hugging their friends and tying a Friendship band. A positive vibe of togetherness was prevalent in the School.

In tune with the spirit of the occasion, people dedicate Friendship Day to their best friends. Class 1 students celebrated Friendship Day by sharing their thoughts on friendship through poems and they also exchanged chocolates with their friends. They also danced to the song “Yeh dosti hum nahi…” and enjoyed the day thoroughly.

In tune with the spirit of the occasion, the students of Class 2 celebrated Friendship Day by making Friendship Day badges to thank their friends for their wonderful presence in their life. They also discussed the importance of “Sharing is Caring”. The day concluded with students hugging their friends  and presenting each other with a friendship day gift.

Friendship day was celebrated to enlighten the bond of friendship among students. Students of Class 3 were told how important friends are and how they should enjoy every moment with them. The quote “A friend in need is a friend indeed” was also explained to students making them realise the importance of friends in life. Students celebrated Friendship Day by acting like their best friends and spoke about  them.

The most beautiful thing in life is having a friend who loves and cares about you. The children of Class 4 were told how important friends are and how they should enjoy every moment with them. They were also told that as a friend they should always help their friends. The children celebrated friendship day by making a Friendship Day Card for their friends. They enjoyed the activity with great enthusiasm.

Friendship Day is just an opportunity to let our friends know that we value their presence in our life. Class 5 students talked about the importance of friends in life. They discussed the value of “sharing is caring”. The day concluded with students hugging their friends in class and presenting each other with a friendship day Card along with self-composed poems and also tying a Friendship Band. They all enjoyed this day with great enthusiasm and zeal.

Celebrating Raksha Bandhan

Rakshabandhan is one of the most endearing ways to celebrate the bond between brothers and sisters. To strengthen this bond a Rakhi making activity was done by the Nursery and Prep classes on 10th August 2022. The students make beautiful Rakhi using decorative material under the guidance of teachers. The students were very happy as they eagerly tied their handmade Rakhis on the wrists of other students. A beautiful bond was shared among them.

Raksha Bandhan or ‘Rakhi’ is a special occasion to celebrate the virtuous bond of love between a brother and sister. To commemorate this festival, the students wore colourful traditional Indian dresses. A Rakhi making activity was organized for the students of Class 1 and the children were informed about the sacred bond between brother and sister and why the festival is celebrated. The students were familiarized with the customs and rituals followed on Raksha Bandhan. Students made beautiful Rakhis using different articles like silken thread, ribbon, waste material, etc.

Raksha Bandhan is a festival that celebrates the bond between brothers and sisters. To strengthen this bond a Rakhi tying ceremony was performed by the kids of Class 2 and to make this day memorable Poems were also recited by the children related to the festival. The event was celebrated with full enthusiasm and zeal.

Raksha Bandhan is the festival of bond, love and togetherness. On this auspicious day, all the sisters tie a Rakhi on the wrists of their brothers. Raksha Bandhan was celebrated by the students of Class 3 to enlighten the love and beautiful moments between brothers and sisters. Students were told the story behind this beautiful festival of India. The students celebrated Raksha Bandhan by drawing the best moment they had with their siblings. 

Raksha Bandhan is an ancient Indian festival. The bonding between a brother and sister is simply unique and is beyond description in words. To strengthen this bond, the students of Class 5 celebrated the festival with great gaiety and splendour. The students were familiarized with the customs and rituals followed on Raksha Bandhan. They were asked to share good childhood memories with their siblings in class with their friends. Their artisanship was quite fascinating and children thoroughly enjoyed this activity.

Independence Day Celebrations

15th August is a red letter day in the history of our Country. On this historic day India won its freedom after centuries of slavery and foreign domination. India celebrates Independence Day with infinite zeal and passion. Independence Day was celebrated with full enthusiasm at Cambridge World School on 14th August 2022. The National Flag was unfurled and the National Anthem echoed in the entire campus. All enjoyed the patriotic songs sung in the assembly. The tiny tots of the Nursery and Prep classes came dressed as Mahatma Gandhi, Rani Lakshmi Bai, Subhash Chandra Bose, Bharat Mata and other several freedom fighters and recited Patriotic slogans. Everyone was full of energy and in a patriotic mood.

Independence Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervor on 13th August by the students of Class 1 to mark 75 years of Independence. On this special occasion, the students were shown a presentation which awoke the feeling towards our motherland. The students also made the national flag using edible seeds and pulses to commemorate the occasion. Indeed, it was a day of joy and celebration.

The Independence Day of India evokes feelings of nationalism, brotherhood and patriotism amongst all of us. The Independence Day was celebrated with full enthusiasm and the students of Class 3 participated in a craft activity of making colourful kites, which are an essential part of the celebrations, using paper and broomsticks.

CWS celebrated Independence Day on 13th August with great zeal and pomp. On this day the sense of happiness and pride could be clearly seen on the faces of all the students. The pupils of Class 5 made posters depicting the Fundamental Rights and Duties of Indian citizens and sang patriotic songs ‘Hum Honge Kaamyaab’, and ‘Saarey Jahaan Se Achcha’. They came in tri-coloured dresses to express their patriotism. The day was full of enjoyment.

Celebrating Janamashtami

In order to celebrate the birth anniversary of Lord Krishna a celebration was organised for the Nursery and Prep Classes on 18th August 2022. All the children came attired in traditional dresses. Some boys came dressed as Krishna, Sudama, Balram, Nandlal and some of the girls came dressed as Radha and her Sakhis. Beautiful decorations were put to make this event more cheerful and colourful. The children danced to the tunes of garbha. A “matki phod” activity was also organised to celebrate the childhood pranks of Bal Gopal.

The students of Class 1 celebrated the joyous festival of Janmashtami also known as Gokul Ashtami on 17th August,2022. The girls were dressed as Radha and the boys as Shri Krishna. The importance of Janamashtami was explained in the class. The mesmerizing dance performance and decoration of matki by the students dedicated to Lord Krishna was definitely an enjoyable experience. It was indeed a memorable day.

Hare Krishna!

To seek the blessings of Lord Krishna, Janamashtami was celebrated by the students of Class 2 on 18th August with mirth and joy. To celebrate the extraordinary bond between the children and the Almighty the students were dressed as Lovely Krishna and Radha. They danced and spoke on the importance of Janamastami. The celebration that followed was truly entertaining and enthralling.

Krishna Janmashtami is celebrated on the birth anniversary of Lord Krishna. He is considered as the 8th incarnation or Avatar of Lord Vishnu. The students of Class 3 were told the story of Lord Krishna and how he was born to protect the world from evil and remove all the difficulties. Students celebrated janmashtami by narrating small and interesting stories of lord Krishna.

‘OM KRISHNAYA NAMAH’

Krishna Janamashtami was celebrated with great enthusiasm and festivity by the students of Class 5.  Dressed as Radha and Krishna,  added a traditional touch to the entire celebration when they danced to the beat of Janmashtami songs, it felt like the air with joy and festive spirit. The delicious ‘Makhan Mishri’ prepared by the teachers and students was distributed among all in school. The school was beautifully decorated for the celebration and Aarti and Bhajans were sung and songs related to Janmashtami were played. A Puja was performed by the staff and children of the School. The fragrance of flowers, soothing aroma of burning camphor, and the jingle of the bells filled the air. Prasad was distributed to all children after the puja. Janamashtami’s message of encouraging goodwill and discouraging bad will was told to kids.

Celebrating Ganesh Chaturthi

Ganesh Chathurthi was celebrated on 31st August 2022 to make students understand that evil can be destroyed by love. The students were told stories related to lord Ganesha and how he ended evil. Some students of the Nursery and Prep classes came dressed as Lord Ganesha, Lord Shiva, Goddess Parvati, Nandi ji, Kartik ji and Maushak. All the students enjoyed the celebrations and worshipped Lord Ganesha.

Festivals build group cohesiveness and re-energize our body, mind and spirit. Of all the festivals, Ganesh Chaturthi is one of the most colorful festivals that marks the birth of Lord Ganesha. The Teachers explained the significance of this festival so that students stay rooted with Indian culture. The students of Class 1 made Ganesha with the help of leaves. They also tapped their feet on the song “Ganpati Bappa Mourya”. The children also enjoyed the delicious sweets that they had brought from home. There was devotion, creativity and fun altogether. It was a great celebration.

To seek the blessings of Lord Ganesha, Ganesh Chaturthi was celebrated by the students of Class 2  in a unique manner. The students coloued and decorated a portrait of Lord Ganesha with decorative material and flowers. The students were explained about the significance of the festival and the importance of celebrating the festival in an eco-friendly way.

The festival of Ganesh Chathurthi was celebrated to make students realize that evil can be destroyed by love. The students of Class 3 were told stories related to lord Ganesha and how he ended evil. In an art activity related to the celebrations, the students made statues of Lord Ganesha using clay. Some students dressed as Lord Ganesha, Lord Shiva, Goddess Parvati, Nandi ji, Kartik ji and Mushak.

Ganesh Chaturthi is observed to celebrate the birth of Lord Ganesha. Lord Ganesha is considered to be the God of Wisdom and Knowledge. The students of Class 4 devoutly decorated an outline of Ganesha with different pulses. They were very keen to know more about Lord Ganesha. The celebrations were a combination of devotion, creativity and fun.

The students of Class 5 celebrated Ganesh Chaturthi with much zeal and zest. They made beautiful Ganesha by using different edibles. The young ones came in colourful attire and some in the guise of Lord Shiva, Lord Ganesha, Goddess Parvati. The students performed the ‘Jai Ganesh Deva’ Aarti with a devoting attitude.
