Celebrating Gandhi Jayanti
First they ignore you,
Then they laugh at you,
Then they fight you,
Then you win.
Gandhi Jayanti was celebrated on 3rd October with the little toddlers of the Nursery and Prep classes. A few students came to school dressed as Gandhiji and Kasturba Gandhi. The little ones were informed about the purpose of celebrating Gandhi Jayanti. They made beautiful posters of Gandhiji and were very happy to learn about the father of the Nation.


Gandhi Jayanti was celebrated by the students of Class 1 to commemorate the Birth Anniversary of the Father of our Nation Mahatma Gandhi. Gandhiji was famous for his non-violent social disobedience. The celebrations commenced with the teachers informing the students about the significance of this day. The students spoke about Gandhiji and made a collage of freedom fighters and leaders and sang patriotic songs. The day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervour and was a learning experience for all.

Gandhi Jayanti is observed annually across India to commemorate the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi who made an immense contribution to India’s independence movement and his philosophies towards life. Students of Class 2 were told about the history of Mahatma Gandhi. Some students came dressed as National leaders and spoke about their contributions.

Gandhi Jayanti is celebrated on 2nd October every year to mark the birth anniversary of Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, who was famously known as Mahatma Gandhi. Father of the Nation, as he was called, led India’s freedom movement along with many other national leaders against the British rule in India. The students of Class 3 were told great stories about Gandhiji and how he fought for our country. Students made Chakra using sheets and ice-cream sticks.

To imbibe the true meaning of Gandhi Jayanti and follow the glorious trails of the noble soul towards evolving a peaceful and prosperous world, a special interactive session was organised by the teachers of Class 4. The students paid a creative homage to Gandhiji by writing thoughtful slogans, maintaining cleanliness in and around their house and showcasing the importance of saving water and the environment and eating a healthy diet in life. Beautiful posters were made by the students which were appreciated by all. The students paid special tributes to the Father of the Nation through their inspiring discussion on the significance of Khadi in life.

Gandhi Jayanti is a day of reverence and reflection, celebrated in India on October 2nd each year to honour the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, the Father of the Nation. The students of Class 5 celebrated this day by making posters related to the day and spoke slogans about the occasion. The celebrations were filled with patriotism.
