Lohri Celebrations
“India is known as a land of festivals and celebration. The festival of Lohri is one such festival which is unique in its perception and significance.” To make this event a memorable one, the students of Class 1 celebrated the Day it with immense joy, enthusiasm. The tiny tots dressed in their best ethnic attire. The children made a Dhol and created a bonfire scene. The teacher informed the children about the festival. All the children enthusiastically participated in the Lohri celebrations.

The significance and legends about the Lohri festival are many and these link the festival to the Punjab region. It is believed by many that the festival marks the passing of the winter solstice. Lohri marks the end of winter, and is a traditional welcome of longer days and the sun’s journey to the northern hemisphere by Hindus and Sikhs in the northern region of the Indian subcontinent. The students of Class 2 celebrated Lohri with enthusiasm and gaiety. The teacher asked the students how they would celebrate this day and then explained to them the importance of this festival. The students then made a painting of a bonfire with their palms which they enjoyed a lot.

Lohri is one of the most popular festivals of Punjab and Haryana but it is now widely celebrated in many other states too. This day was celebrated on the virtual platform by students of Class 3 where they watched a video on Lohri and made beautiful cards on it to add fun and fervour to the festival spirit.

The students of Class 4 celebrated Lohri on 13th January, 2022 with great enthusiasm. They were dressed in colourful ethnic attire. The day commemorated with immense joy and magnificence. Children danced to the foot tapping Punjabi music to the fullest. The teacher explained to the children about Lohri. Later they made beautiful cards, posters and sang popular Lohri songs.

Celebrating Our 73rd Republic Day
The School In-charge hoisted the National flag and everyone paid respects by singing the National Anthem. In classes, the teachers explained to the students of Class 2 the importance of this historic Day.To add the national fervour to the day, the students made paper flowers coloured them using the tri-colour theme. The activity filled the students with national pride.

Our Nation’s 73rd Republic Day was celebrated on a virtual platform by students of Class 3 with patriotic fervour. The students were informed about the importance of this day through a Video. Some children recited poems to commemorate the day and others were dressed as freedom fighters.

The 73rd Republic Day was celebrated in all its solemnity and grandeur in virtual classroom by the students of Class 4. The students saluted the National Flag and pledged themselves to upholding the honour and integrity, diversity and uniqueness that is “India”. They were explained that “Constitution of India came into force on 26th of January in 1950, so we celebrate this day as the Republic Day every year”. Students dressed up in different freedom fighters and also drew the National Flag. They sang patriotic songs with great zeal and enthusiasm.
